Seems like I've had lots of opportunities with the species this year...this one at a different location. This wee little fella rested on that log for the longest time, mostly sleeping. I hung on for a long time, a little more than an hour, before getting some sort of a pose...I'm quite glad my patience paid off!

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, just about FF, remove a few distractions in the water and toned down the wet reflections on the log, NR to the BG and FG.

    Very cute, Daniel:)

Lovely inquisitive pose and I like the reflection. Beautiful colours and the framing works for me, I like the POV and the perch is superb, by the way!

Your patience indeed paid off and I truly enjoyed viewing this frame - thank you for sharing

    Warmest regards,

Very nice! Unique look and great reflection. I need to add patience to my skill set. I'm wondering about lifting the darks just a little...
