You have a really nice pose and with nice sharp details. I like the fish against the wing.
Something is off though with your PP. On my monitor there is color shading on the bird, purple on the body, green on the wings and yellow on the tail.
Fix the whites and you have a really fine photo......

Excellent pose and the fish is a bonus. I'm seeing the same thing as Dan. I suspected that the image was a little under-exposed and so there is noise in the bird body and green color cast on the wing. Loi

Hi Will, love the overall pose here and having the fish is a great bonus. Agree with Dan re colour cast and I think that may have stemmed from the WB and then you just need to adjust the HSL to remove key colours i.e. yellow, I think it then starts to get back to the more cooler look, but it's just a thought? What I do really like are the shades within the wingtips, that translucent appearance but it also has a 'graphic' feel being pointed. If you have better light, but lower ISO maybe up the DoF?

Not sure if this helps, I just pushed the midT's a little more just to add a little more definition, likewise sharpening, but all personal taste. Overall Will IMHO you are moving in the right direction, but PP often takes a little longer, the main area is the capture, great stuff.

Excellent pose, details, composition. Love the fish and the very visible eye. Steve's repost takes it up a few notches with the colour correction.

Hi William...is the bird flying over an area near grasses or green vegetation?

Yes it was Adrian, you thinking the same as me, thats where the green cast is reflected from?

Yes, I think we are thinking the same. I would not regard it technically as a 'cast' though. I also think the yellow behind the feet is nothing more than colouration picked up by the bird when walking about feeding or brooding young etc. However I would agree that a little tweaking is needed because the bird's breast is slightly off what I might expect....but not far off IMHO.

  14. Thanks William Dickson thanked for this post

Looking at your techs and seeing the white sky, I do suspect you underexposed a little?
Love the pose mate, the fish adds to the overall excellence of the shot and Steve K's repost certainly addresses any colour cast your OP had.
Well done mate, you gotta love the 1D4!
