This was in the Chobe NP, Botswana. Another of my fave images from my recent trip. Gotta love those fish eagles.

Like the bird pose, frame, details and exposure. Great capture of the beautiful bird! TFS.

I'm not generally keen on take off/launch shots (even though I have done them) but this seems more palatable....I cannot explain why. A fine bird and nicely exposed with equally nice detail.

Great exposure and lovely rich colours Sanjeev. Nice detail on the whites. I love the determined look on the birds face.

Hi Sanjeeve, beautiful bird and capture. Judging from the shadow, the light was a bit harsh, so you don't get much details of the underwing. Perhaps you may also under-exposed a little as I think you can push the white a little more. It is just a difficult lighting conditions that you had to work with I think. Loi

Hi Sanjeev, always nice to see this out in the open, they really are massive birds, like the position, just about to launch. Having a clean blue sky also helps any tracking issues as you have not objects or 'contrast' areas for the AF to mistakenly latch onto. Nice detail in the head and eye where it should be, but agree on perhaps selectively opening the shadows a fraction for under the wing, but not much! Not sure if you have added any more Red & Yellow???

Thanks everyone. Steve, I did not add any red or yellow. In fact I reduced both a fraction.

That's fine, just looking at the yellow in the whites, no problem, just a thought .

Hi Sanjeev, excellent exposure on the whites, as sometimes they can get blown. I like how the far wing follows the line of the perch. Great light on the eye, and agree on bringing out a little of the underwing shadows. I feel you may have had too much glass, as I know the next flight position of the wings would have been extended straight up, and you would have cut the tips off.

Thanks Stu. You are absolutely right regarding the next few frames. I had too much glass and did clip those wing tips

Nice take off shot Sanjeev, timed just right with the wing positions. Tough light to work in, and I don't think there dis too much more you could have done, particularly if you intended to keep hold of the whites as well as you've managed.
