As a fan of "high key" images it's about time I participate in this month's theme! I had a few previously un-processed images of high key Snowy Owls so here is one that I just worked on this morning specifically for the theme. It was one of the days that I was accompanied by Loi, this one being overcast...lots of fun.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1600s., f/4, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, cropped for composition (but still a good 75% FF), enhanced the eyes (selective color) and details around the face (burn tool), deepened the blacks (also burn tool). Fed live mouse.

    A lovely image.
My only suggestion for this fine image would be to clone out the dark area at the bottom of the frame.
    Excellent sharpness.
Love the pop of yellow that the eyes bring to this monochromatic image.

Superb work Dan, certainly fits the theme! Great intensity in the hunting owl, particularly with the close in crop.

Gorgeous! These guys look like the avian equivalent of stealth aircraft -- in visible light.

Interesting image, Daniel, excellent as always. High-key works very well here.

If it were mine, I'd try to show more of the wings, if possible. I also would not feed live animals of any kind to obtain a photograph. But that's just my personal bias.
