    Default White Throated Kingfisher.

    Image was created in the last year. He was partly in the light and shadow.
    Basic editing, curves and levels to whole image. Cropped from horizontal to vertical for composition and sharpened.


    ISO: 800, 1/320 @5.6. Spot metering. Manual. HH. 550d, 100-400 mm.

    Nice pose and colors, Satish. It would look better if you extended the perch to the edge of the right frame.

    A lovely KF species, with great colors and an amazing bill. I agree with Karl about the perch, and the head seems to me just a bit lacking in fine detail compared with some of your recent shots.

    A pretty shot, nicely handled against the white sky. I don't mind the perch as it is.

    An excellent image considering lighting. High key images can be difficult to handle and having mixed lighting in such an image can make it more problematic IMHO. In the circumstances I think you did pretty well. The detail is not the best but it is acceptable in my view and I'm OK with the perch too.
