    Hand held Canon 1DX Canon 500mm f4 & 1.4TC III ISO 1600 1/1600 sec f5.6
    This was taken a couple of days after the previous shots, this day I managed to fire off two exposures - that was it two!
    Tomorrow looks as though it could be a promising early morning start!

    Excellent head on flight shot. I like softness in the frame. Transparent wing feathers looks like as if they are held together by threads.
    I like the tilted head and placement of owl in the frame.

    Your perseverance is starting to pay off Jon, well done. I like the format and HA, creates a nice diagonal line. Good luck for tomorrow, but hope it's not too bright, what appears to be overcast skies I think has helped here.

    I am really surprised only 2 responded to this image. I love where you placed the owl here, and you have a lot of nice details.
