    Not sure about these shots, so your comments would be much appreciated

    Revisiting some of my old images - taken in January 2013 when I first started my interest in Bird photography, with the Nikon 300mm f4 AFS lens

    and before I discovered LR/PS

    not too sharp, soft, as it was hand held ...... so max sharpening applied in pp

    (now) cropped and processed in LR/PS

    Nikon D300 + Nikon 300mm f4

    f5.6 - ISO 200 - 1/1000th sec ....... second image at 1/600th sec

    They look good to me! I love the poses and the BG is pleasing as well.

    Very nice, especially for early attempts. The BG is distracting, especially in the first, although the colors are pleasing. Very interesting position caught in the second, with nice focus on the ruffled feathers. Having the flower in the way isn't a huge problem for me here -- although it isn't a classic portrait the action makes up for it. In the first, I wish the tail weren't so close to the corner.
