Remarkable birds, Jon, beautifully captured in their environment. Good background, and what looks like more materials for the nest. Very nice.

Good sense of place between the rocks and raging sea. Neat that there is some colouration on some of those rocks. Nice interaction with the nesting material exchange. Cropping away about 30-40% of the free space above reduces the impact of the bright waves (which pull my gaze there) without eliminating them.

Hi Jon - Nice behavioral image. My initial reaction was the same as Daniel's crop suggestion. Crop some from the top to a more pano presentation and the bg won't draw the eye as much.

I like the image design Jon but agree that the whites in the background are a bit distracting. I wonder how the waves would look if the whites were reduced using a highlight adjustment or maybe a gradient darkening towards the top of the frame? Regards, Ian.

Hi Jon, excellent exposure on these difficult characters, and well done on getting the behaviour between the two. I agree to taking some off the top, and well positioned that you framed the Shags 'below' the white of the surf.
