Finally got some time to go see the Burrowing Owl chicks at Salton Sea. They have successfully fledged. Three fat chicks and the parents are doing well. they were fairly active this morning. The chicks flew off to check out the surround area watching Dad hunt. Here one of the chicks flew back to the nest and was about to land. The other two chicks were on the ground.

Removed the wing tip of a chick on the lower left and added some canvas on top.

Fantastic lighting and detail Loi. I love the stare, and also how the owl has cleared the darker BG into the lighter part which shows it off really well. Great pose and POV. Very nicely done.

You have done an excellent job keeping the head, especially the eyes, and the body sharp in this action shot! Great eye contact! Beautiful soft background focuses all the attention on this wonderful bird. As Will noted, having the owl against the lighter background is a real bonus. TFS!

Awesome frame Loi!! Love the stare, the details and the well frozen feet and wings. I have a similar frame that I posted a few years ago. I called it "Ninja Owl". Nice work!
