After a short bath she predictably rose up and flapped her wings to rid excess water. I gave her bonus points for rotating towards me just before doing so.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, slight rotation and cropped for composition, bright area in the BG blended in via low opacity clone stamp, darkened the pupil.

Lovely image, Daniel. Nice angle, love the blurred wings (I took note of your shutter speed), perfect background. Thank you for sharing.

Daniel, great composition, well chosen SS. This is a lovely image. Not sure what the light situation was, but it looks just a bit flat. I suspect one of the cloudy days in Ottawa? Loi

Another good piece of photography Dan. Love the 'shaking' of the wings and the priceless expression on the birds face. Nice one

These littler birds are FAST on the wing flap! Great choice on SS... blurred wings direct our focus to that pretty face. Blurred water droplets work well too. BG and FB provide a good environmental "framing".
