I am continually amazed by the impressive images posted on this website. This is another such image! This is a strong, clean image with the bird really popping out of the background. The position of the bird is interesting and the feather details are quite nice. To my eyes, you have the perfect DOF for the image. I notice you even captured a mosquito ( or fly?) on the left side! LOL!

Lovely image, Karl. I am amazed how different this one is from the resident Sand Hill Cranes in Florida. Ours are more grey than the brown/rust colored back of the one in your image. Thank you for sharing.

A beauty, Karl. Great detail and DOF as Karen mentioned, and an interesting skulking (or feeding?) pose. I, too, am interested by the rufous coloration of this one, compared to others I have seen.

Thank you Karen. As you mentioned the bug on the left, ( I did not see that one) I went back to the original and reinstalled from it to the posted version, the one close to the bird. Originally I got rid of it but why not, it looks funny.

Hi Karl, excellent feather detail, tack sharp, and I really like the angled walking pose here. Comp wise, I would take a bit off the top. I do like the bugs in your repost, you should have left them in your OP - They add interest.
