Hi Gio - Unfortunately this doesn't work for me. The biggest problem for me is the very steep shooting angle. Also the fox is very dark and its features don't really stand out. Sorry.

HiGiovanni , i think it is kind of interesting image .Even if the Fox does look a little bit lost , i think it reflects their environment quite well .
I like the misbalanced look of the frame , showing the Fox up on its way .
Image does lack some punch as the snow does look grayish and not white , so i treated the snow and the fox plus a slightly different crop .
Why do you use DXO for raw conversion ?????? What does DXO give you better than DPP or ACR/LR . I tried DXO in the past and i did not like it at all , but this can be just my POV , not saying DXO isn´t any good .

This is the kind of image that I would find interesting and wanting a way to present it. I'm glad to see that Andreas found it and that you took a chance and posted it.

Hi Gio,i did not use DPP for the RP .
Just four adjustment layers in PS .
1 levels layer to push the histogram to both ends
2 levels layer to open up the Fox slightly (masked)
3 curves layer for a slight mid tone boost
4 curves layer set to soft light blend mode at 30% to the light mid tones (masked) , mask created with Tony Kuypers make panel

Regarding speed of DXO over DPP ..... well we all have our preferences .
I would prefer Capture One over DXO though , and from what i have heard from Canon Officials that Capture One is not bad.

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Gio, what are the techs, please add.

I quite like the image and concept, just wished the subject was sharp, if it had been then it may have changed things as you have tonal colour to help the form.

Hi Gio , i did not say DPP can do better , specially at web size one cannot say which raw converter was used ............ my thinking .
Just for the fun of it i downloaded the latest DXO and tried on somehow problematic images and i must say the output is not too bad , but ...... i will stick to DPP.

If i remember correctly we already went through this with two other images you posted in the past , regarding the use of DPP 4 and i demonstrated my way with DPP 4 (Jonathan from Avian was also involved), so there is not "THE" way and no preset that works for all images as all images are different .
You just need to get to know each peace of software , does not matter which brand, to get the best out of it and your images.

If you have Arash´s guide just follow it , but find your own way , do not follow the steps totally blind , approach the image with open eyes and play with the software . Making different versions will help to see the options how to process images.

    Cheers Andreas

    Hi Giovanni.
I agree with Steve - I like the concept as it's my kind of image - just wish the fox was sharper, clearer and more detailed.
