I was lucky to get close to this endangered species on the banks of Chobe River in Botswana (image made from a boat). I made this portrait to highlight the amazing bill of the skimmer.

    Sanjeev:

An amazing bill indeed, with bold colors fading to almost translucent at tip. Nicely exposed, good shooting angle. Well framed with nice catchlight.

    Cheers

    Magnificent portrait, Sanjeev.
Well exposed blacks and whites. Wonderful colors of beak. Nice composition.

Terrific portrait and composition. It's amazing how closely the African skimmers resemble ours. The only difference I can really detect is the black on our skimmers' beaks.

Hi Sanjeev, excellent close up, never seen one so close with all that detail. Well exposed, and I like the eye level perspective. I do like the smooth OOF BG.

Hopefully you had enough memory cards for all the opportunities you had.
