    Tripod Canon 1Dx Canon 180mm macro ISO 800 1/160 sec f8, I would have preferred f11 or so but the background became intrusive.

    I like the angled perch, the roughly opposing diagonals of the wings, soft light. The wings almost look furry in places.

    The 'targets' on wings are quite striking.

    Yes to more DOF, but understand your concerns about the background. It does look very soft here, but most have been relatively close to become bothersome at a smaller f/stop.

    Delicate colors on this specimen, nicely captured! I always think the faces on these butterflies look like some of the Dr Seuss characters.

    Like the frame composition and light. As far as I can see POV is not optimal for deeper DOF and wish to see more wing details.

    What it lacks (just slightly) in tack-sharpness it makes up for in a lovely composition and BG. These furry little butterflies are just plain cute!
