Default Wild Dog on a Hunt

Looking in back to my old files from last year at Kwando Lagoon and found this unprocessed image of a wild dog on an evening hunt.

    1DX
    70-200f2.8 + 1.4X III @ 150mm
    1/400
    f5.6
    ISO-1600
    HH

I found this is not rely a good combo for trying to follow a dog pack on a hunt. I had many images not in good focus. After this afternoon, I took the TC off the 70-200.

Thank you for commenting on my images.

Hi Loi - Nice look at the wild dog and they do move quickly when on the hunt and usually the light is terrible. You certainly did not need the TC, especially not to shoot at a focal length of 150mm but it's often difficult to anticipate the needs at the start of the drive. We've all been there where we wish we had a different equipment set-up for a situation that unfolds too quickly to change on the fly. I like the walking/stalking pose and the feel of intensity from the image. Overall, the image seems a little flat to me. I might also reduce the reds in the coat if it were mine but you were there.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Great sighting, I like the serious expression on his face and the walking pose.
