    Default Little owlet

A quick wander around one of the little owl sites in hope of spotting any successful young ,this site does not have a lot of trees near the nest so the owls favoured hiding places is in these rocks ,the male spends half is life perched on these ,this is were I usually find they do their branching and after setting up the loaned 500mm on a old milk crate it was sit and wait ,there were a few tell tale signs that a active owl was around so didn't expect to wait long before the ever so inquisitive little owlet would pop out ,this owlet looks around the 28 days old mark but just look at those eyes ,considering they are born blind and just a month later he can mesmerise you with a piercing look ,I couldn't help but smile .....canon 1d mk4 iso 800 F4 1/800 sec +1/3 ev ....I have saved this image as a web device so I hope there are no sharpening issues Name: Little-owltet-waterfoot-(1-of-1).jpg-BPN.jpg

Great pose and stare the owl has given you here Dennis. The head and chest looks sharp enough to me, although the beak is a wee bit soft. Just love that stare. Nice work.

Great stare, I would sharpen the face and beak a bit more...

I was going to say an excellent shot but shame about the bill - but you fixed it - so I will say excellent shot - I wish I had access to one of these little gems. I did have one locally but it has disappeared.
