    Default Inca Tern in Flight

Here's one more Inca Tern from the Lima harbor a few weeks ago. Shooting this species on a sunny day would have been next to impossible. On this particular morning, although the fog forced me to raise the ISO and lower the shutter speed beyond optimum settings, it made it possible to get some tonal gradation in the blacks. Cropped to vertical, added slivers of canvas to top, bottom and left sides. This probably doesn't qualify as high-key, since there is some tint to the sky.

Beautiful bird, nicely shown. So different from the terns in the USA. Thank you for sharing.

This is one heck of revealing flight image, Bill. We can see all the colors and subtle separation of the trailing white feathers of the wing edges from the BG, and all the other beautifully unique markings of this great looking bird. Very nice fanned tail feathers too.

Bill, great image under difficult conditions. You have nicely captured all of the salient features of this beautiful Tern. I particularly like the repeating shades of grey in the fanned tail.
