Hi all , caught his Gannet close to landing in the rookery of Helgoland Island (Germany) .
I had two two days of gorgeous weather while spending my time at the rookery . But wind was blowing not that good for these guys , so there was not that much of flight activity to my surprise even they were having chicks in the nests.
But i managed to get some flight shots.

Processed with DPP 4 and PS CC 2015; moved the bird in the frame to the right and cropped slightly from all sides . 90 % of FF

Thanks for looking and commenting to my last thread .

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas, love the splayed feet on approach, together with the outspread wings and fanned tail. Well exposed on the whites, and the Gannet pops nicely against your sea BG.

Still gotta get one of these in my files.

    Hi Andreas,

Nice Gannet! I like the pose and the PP looks excellent, as usual!

Interesting to see the difference between German Gannets and Irish Gannets!

    Best regards,

    Gerald

Hi Andreas, like the pose and the whites well handled, the blue of the sea provides an excellent backdrop to add more 'pop' to the scene and subject.

Very nice color palette and the image is tack sharp and exposure is perfect.
I do wish that the foot didn't merge with the far wing and for a little better view at the eye.

I really like the color of the water and the birds colors against it. Wish for a bit better eye contact but the colors do make the shot. Well done.

I love the exposure, the nice blue BG and your comp. The lack of eye contact however is a bit of a bummer for me Andreas.

Lovely, fun flight pose. Love the white bird against the dark blue sky. Exposure is spot on. I think there's enough eye to make this work well.
