    Ilija:

Often very difficult to capture a darker bird against a light background, but you pulled it off well here. Nice catchlight, sharp on the head.

The perch/wire isn't my favorite, but it is small, scaled to fit the bird, and neutral colored enough to not be obtrusive. Plus, it runs at a diagonal, always good.

My other two comments are related to the fairly steep shooting angle, and DOF challenges caused by that. Since the bulk of the body is out of the DOF, and it is a look back pose, where the body is closest to the viewer, it detracts a bit from the overall impact of the image.

    Good to see you posting.

    Cheers

    Thank you Randy,

I didn't have too many options. It was quite dark so could not stop. Had to go with iso1600 too.
Considering the perch, it was either this or a very busy BG. This was a mountain forest in Jamaica.

Nice to be here, I had a job change, was stupidly busy, but now I'm back :)

    Cheers,
    Ilija
