Well I have been looking for the owl the last four days but I haven't seen it, this one was taken the day after my first barn owl post. Unfortunately it was again a huge crop. I will still keep looking early morning, I obviosly need to be out earlier!

Great bird, love the rodent, since it is a huge crop I think you should crop it bit differently. Try to put the bird off center, with a long frame, shorter vertical.

    Jon:

One of my favorite birds, unfort. not endemic in my area. Prey item a plus.

I do agree with Ilija about trying different compositional options. When the bird is small in the frame, move him around with diff. comps and see what strikes the best balance. If there is some other compositional element in the original frame you can work into your image, that often adds interest.

I like the crop suggested above. I also think the head would benefit from some additional sharpening.

Great find and nice action but unfortunately the IQ suffers from the crop.

    Jon:

I do like the repost better. The smaller crop gives better apparent IQ, but it is still very obvious what is going on.

I love the repost Jonathan. Certainly makes for a far stronger image with the comp having the bird off the center.
    Thanks for sharing.
