    I think it was on a collision course with your lens! Of course I'd love to have the wings frozen and a bit more DOF but moving at the speeds they fly at it's a great shot of the face coming right at you! I think that is a Twelve Spotted Skimmer.

    Amazing shot, Allen! Sharp where it most needs to be with enough blur in the wings to give a sense of motion. You might consider some selective brightening of the dark side of its face and perhaps taking a little off the top and/or adding a little room at the bottom. Just a couple potential tweaks to a very nice image!
