    Default Mountain Bluebird and bee

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Canon 1DX
    600mm II
ISO 800 SS 1/1600 ( I got lucky to get this sharp at low SS) F 7.1
About 65% FF, usual sliders , levels, cloned out the front of the nesting box on RHS of frame, USM to JPEG
The bluebird hovers for a few seconds before entering the nesting box so I prefocused on the box and waited for the parent to return with goodies for the chick.
I could crop tighter but I like " my space"!
Taken during workshop with Alan Murphy and Greg Downing in British Columbia.
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,

Hi Gail, excellent flight pose showing the full downstroke of the wings. Ive always enjoyed the blues on these birds, and the light and your exposure shows it up so well. Sharp where it counts, and the grub is a real bonus. Well captured.

Very well caught Gail, I like the wing position and the bee. I have no critique to offer other than possibly lighten the background a little bit.

    What a great image Gail!
Well executed and I like the hint of movement in the wing tips.

Beautiful Gail. I really like the colors: blue, green, yellow.
