This image was captured near Lima on our recent trip to Peru. As Bill Dix mentioned in one of his recent posts, he found a local guide before we arrived in Peru to show us some of the bird hot spots not far from Lima. Though it was overcast most of the morning, we were quite successful at finding a number of bird species. This is a lifer for me. C&C welcome.

This is a very attractive duck. I like the pose, even though his back is somewhat towards you the head profile is pleasing. Good exposure control and DOF with a nice soft background. Only thing I'd suggest is cropping a little off the bottom to remove the two partial feather reflections to keep the viewer focused on the lovely duck.

    What a great looking duck!
Love the soft light. You have just enough head turn to make this work.
I agree with Karen's suggestion to crop from the bottom.
I really like the green strip at the top of the frame.

Striking bird, and the pose you got it in shows of off the wing colours beautifully. Having said this, I still would have preferred a better body angle, or at very least a head turn...but I still like it as is. Had the water been all green that would have been over the top!

Same here, body angle is quite there... like the details, and the feel though.. the wing spread, and color detail is Sweet!!
