    Default Leopard Cub (Scotia)

Had a wonderful sighting of Scotias' cub last week. She was mulling around waiting for mom to return from a hunt. She then jumped into the Leadwood tree and posed for about a minute before jumping into higher busier branches.
Unfortunately the other cub has dissapeared its been about 2 months since we saw the other one. We are pretty sure the harsh Kruger environment has claimed another victim.
Shot after sunset with just a small amount of light left. I love the colours in the BG.

to me this is a classic shot that is very atmospheric - the graduated light in the bg really works and the soft and subdued lighting of the image bring in the moment - I do not find the tree at all dominant and this image is past any technical considerations as the "image" and composition just say it all, ..........vulnerable but powerful

Hi Dumay - Sorry to hear about the other cub but mom and cub have certainly given you some excellent sightings in the last few months. I too like the colors in the bg and the pose. She clearly is focused on other things. Exp looks good especially given the low light situation. I can also see a version with about half the distance from cub to the bottom of the frame cropped but it works as is too.

    Hello Dumay,

I love this - superb processing and the framing works for me as is, lovely colours (including BG), sharpness is there - nice steady hand or perhaps firm support - whatever you do in the field and during PP, you have been producing some stunning work for some time now and I am enjoying it tremendously, great IQ and I like the clarity of this frame - congrats my friend

    Warmest regards,

    Hey Dumay
Love the soft colours and light and the uncluttered scene behind/around her here.
Nicely composed vertically with the framing tree trunks on either side.

Hi Dumay, I like the textures of the trees flanking either side, I think you could loose a fraction of the top removing the 'V' top LHC.

Hi Dumay -- Lovely colors and composition !! the twig in the FG is a bit distracting but it is part and parcel of nature photography and not a deal breaker here !! TFS !
