This is literally just a grabshot.
I was driving home on 8/20/2012 from an outing and was chatting with a mate on handsfree.
Having seen the Black-shouldered Kite hovering roadside, I said I'd call him back.
I quickly pulled over, aimed and willed the bird to look back at me so I can have eye contact. It did.

    Akos,
Magnificent hovering pose you have captured with very nice HA. Superb IQ.
I like curved wing tips, fanned tail feathers, exposures in whites with great details and red eye.
    Nice composition too.

    Regards,
    Satish.

That's just very good Akos - the eye contact with the bird makes the shot and you have created a "relationship" with the bird which is quite special ....... and the pose emphasises that even more with the wing position

I cannot see anything that needs to be adjusted or changed .......... just a very good shot and one to be proud of

Hi Akos, I really like the forward wing position of the near wing, and very well timed to have captured the head turn. The light is cast perfectly showing up the red eyes that they have, and the head is tack sharp. Comp wise, just personal, I would maybe take a touch off the RHS.

Not bad for a grab shot mate.

Terrific grab shot. I wish I could will the birds to do my bidding. The head turn really makes the shot. Not crazy about the far wing position, of course, but everything else is spot on.

The bird whisperer! The look back, bright red eye, eye contact, head and upper body sharpness, wing position, lighting....it all just works! Stunning shot. A wonderful shot you should be very proud of.

The head turn and the captivating eye makes this shot. The love the position of the near wing. It does two things for me - it helps fill the frame and I love seen the neat arrangement of feathers. The fanned tail is awesome too. The far wing position isn't my favorite. The light, exposure and IQ are nice. I'd shave a bit off the bottom and the right if IQ holds, but comp is a subjective matter. Well done Akos.

Just gorgeous -- pose and sharpness are wonderful! I'd agree with a bit off the bottom.
