Nesting is over, the fun for watching them almost every morning for the last two month is also over.
Last time I heard them calling each other in the same forest but never saw them again.
Thanks for looking.

You captured a really nice moment here with the 2 open beaks greeting the adult. The things that should be in focus are, with adequate feather detail. The clean BG allows the subjects to stand out nicely. At first, the image seemed a bit bright to me, but the sun is shinning on them and the tree. Not sure if burning the tree or using curves to bring the bark tones down a bit would help. I wonder if you have a little more room on the left and/or maybe a bit on the right.....which would give more width to the image.
Overall a very pleasing image and one to be proud of! Thank you for sharing.
Excellent image, Karl.
Superb IQ. Spectacular moment. showing two little ones demanding for food.
Well exposed black with fine details.
I do feel toning down the tree will help to pop up kids more prominently.
Great show.
Hi Karl, what a killer image with the two youngsters hoping for food. Excellent exposure on the parent, and nicely placed with a clean BG. You have the sharpness spot on here. Well captured.
It looks bright, but not a painful bright. Not sure if that makes sense Karl?
I love it! Excellent action with the two hungry chicks begging for more.
TFS!
You guys are killing me with these Pileated shots. This is a great moment well captured, with good sharp detail and poses. Ditto re brightness, esp. on trunk and chicks, to address the bright sun -- will make it even better.
RP looks better, Karl, but I would burn the tree even more and the blacks on the adult and the heads on the chicks look a little bright as well. Here's a very quick version. It doesn't seem like much of a difference but when you toggle between the 2 images, you can really see it.
