    Northern Black Korhaan - Afrotis Afraoides (endemic to southern Africa)

    I love the way these guys explode from their arid grassland habitat with a degree of panic and a serious squawk. Always fun to photograph

    What a great looking bird and I like the habitat.

    I like the habitat inclusion. It seems to make an image less sterile than just a pure BG and FG.
    Well exposed with good details in all tones and I like the comp.
    A very pleasing image Richard, at least for me.

    I actually like the surroundings quite a lot here, a great depiction of the habitat. The subject looks great with rich blacks. I like the slight head tilt. Well done.

    Hi Rich, excellent exposure on this fellow, and what a super pose. These guys are so skittish, so having captured him this fairly open space is a real bonus.
