    I have some trepidation about posting yet another Snowy Egret after all the superb ones already seen in this forum, but I thought this recent image wasn't too bad. Perched on a wharf on Dewees Island, SC, recently, in harsh mid-afternoon light, spot-metered off the bird's head.

    D300, Nikon 80-400VR, hand-held.
    Shutter Speed (Exposure Time) = 1/1000 second
    Aperture = F10
    Exposure Bias (EV) = 0/1 = 0
    Metering Mode = spot (3)
    ISO Speed Ratings = 250

    Great composition Richard,
    I like that pose with the head turn...For my taste, I would like the background a little lighter...:D

    I like it....especially the pose. I always think they have such a "wild look in the eye". I might add a slight round of sharpening and even select just the eye for a little extra. There's something to be said for an eye that pops off the screen and grabs your attention. Well done.
