Nice image, Dan. The bird pops from the OOF for- and background. Nice head turn and feather patter.

What a stunning bird! Lovely details and a perfect DOF and head turn. Would've just loved to see the feet. Don't know if I've ever seen a prettier bird.

    Hey Dan,
Is this a Hawaiian bird? Looks like the ones I shot there. Either way it's a beautifully colored bird with some great gold color on his back. A nice look back pose and a soft BG really make this one appealing . Well done

    David,
    A long way from Hawaii...
Taken in breeding plumage in Iceland last week.
Iceland is about the best birding place I have ever been.
    Completely unexpected...

Beautiful bird with great colours with a shot like this I would not bother one bit about the feet everything above them more than makes up for it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a little more OOF rocks below and crop just below the large darkish OOF blob near the top.
A spectacular image with beautiful, soft, light and a wonderful bird in the perfect look-back pose. The grasses on the left balance the comp nicely.

    TFS!

    Very nice Dan.
Great head turn and I think I would either crop from the top to get rid of the dark area or clone it out.

what a beautiful look at the intricate plumage!! Great job with the details and colours. The vertical comp works well with this pose. Nice BG. Too bad the plover did not stand on top of those FG pebbles!

I like the look back pose and sharp topside details. very nice display of habitat. On my screen it appears to have a slight magenta cast. I also wish the feet were visible
