Captured this image of this small colorful passerine just outside Lima Peru in a marsh in a large stand of Scirpus. A lifer for me. C&C welcome.

Bet this took some getting in all that vegetation, would like to see a crop that would loose just a bit of it and maybe would help to show this smashing little bird better, just my own personal thoughts Geoffrey, well done on your lifer.

    Congrats on this lifer.
I have never heard of this bird before so it is a real treat to view.
Exposure is good as is the IQ.I like the bit of iridescence on the neck.
I could see this as a vertical.
I am stating the obvious but A bit of a head turn our way would have been awesome.

my kind of shot - really good - natural with natural colours as seen and not over processed

experiment with the crop, IMHO it can look better - certainly a bit off the left, (the area is distracting and weak?), but try others, tighter

    Well done

Great capture Geoffrey. Love the colours and detail on the bird. Yes I think a vertical may work here aswell. Lovely work and congrats

A beautiful, tiny species, well captured. No easy feat to get him fully in the open. HA noted but the bird still shows nicely. I could imagine a slightly tighter crop from left and bottom, but as presented it shows his environment well. I wonder if just the tiniest bit of added contrast would make it pop?
