    Default Lazuli Bunting

I just finished a wonderful workshop in British Columbia with Alan Murphy and Greg Downing. Great guys (and had lots of laughs) and it was a real treat to watch Alan do perch set-ups. Bird was called in using audio.
Alan gets all the credit for this shot and I am just happy I was next to him to get it.
Taken around 8:00AM on high overcast day.
    Canon 1DX
    600mm and 1.4x tele.
Shot as a vertical and small crop to about 80% FF.
Cloned a flower from LLC below tail.
PP: Crop, adjusted WB, NR to BG, increased exposure by 1/3 stop, levels, DE to bird at 1% and a hint of USM to JPEG
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,
    Gail

    Gail:

Excellent calling pose, soft bg, pleasant colors. Pretty setup.

I could see a version with a bit off the top, just personal taste.

    Look forward to more!

    Cheers

Fantastic photo. Alan is the master of perch set-up photography. No wonder, before I saw your name, I thought of him having looked at the thumbnail.

Lovely pose Gail, I like the soft light and the colour palette.

Hi Gail, this couldnt any better with regards to the singing pose. Love the soft light and the colours on the Bunting, sharp, and the set up works well. Looks like you had a successful trip.

    Hi Gail,

Agree with above comments. Great frame with nice setup, like the bird pose and flowers colors. The soft light and well balanced BG makes a great photo.

    Cheers,
    Miro

Great looking setup shot Gail. Looks just like any nice Murphy shot. Great colors and I like the calling pose. I'm in the same boat as Dan on the flower in front. Very nice and look forward to more.... I Still keep looking at the ruddy shot :)
