The most beautiful in the world I think and there are a lot of them in Iceland.
They are iconic to the country.
The famous Kirkjufell in the background.

Very neat, maybe too much saturation in the reds.
Hi Dan - Interesting to see. Are the horses just roaming wild throughout? I too wondered about the color of the horse and thought that the reds seemed a bit strong but you were there. I think this would work better if the horse wasn't centered and you had shifted the view to the left a bit, putting the horse more on the rhs of the frame. There's also a halo around the edge of the Kirkjufell. Looking forward to seeing more from Iceland.
TFS,
Rachel
Hi Dan -- Beautiful settings here ! I totally agree with Rachel here on the positioning of the Horse , it would have looked much more appealing had it been placed in the RHS corner. Colors of the Horse looks tad more saturated but u r more familiar with the specie so u r the better judge. none the less a great feel to the image . TFS !
Nice work, but the water smoothing looks too fake imo., I wouldn't have put the horizon in the center., also, (respectfully) was the horse really there, or planted with PS?
Hi Dan, I too would agree on the overall saturation (but it does create a richness to the scene) and to a certain extent, the smoothness is a little excessive, but your call. If the opportunity was there, I think moving slightly to the left so the 'mountain' wasn't touching the subject and there was just a gap, this may have been better. The halo is a quick fix.

Hi Dan , a lovely animalscape for my taste in general.
Really like the overall color and tones . In a real nice world the horse would have been more to the right and not that much of red , but you were there .
Agree with already stated smooth water ..... does look a bit fake to me .

Certainly one of the more interesting compositions of Kirkjufell, Dan - so glad you avoided those deeply rutted tripod holes at the little cascade falls where every 2nd tog in the world goes to "get the shot"![]()
Agree with the vibrancy/saturation being just a tad overcooked, and the smoothness of the water looks a bit weird given the SS you used...
I also agree that placing the horse more to the RHS would have taken this up a notch. I hope to see more!
Thanks for the comments on my highly stylized photo and I agree that the horse is too red.....
Raymond, no, the horse is not photoshopped in, the real thing and I should have moved left.
I was standing 5 feet away with the 14mm lens and did not think in time.
Morkel, of course I have the shot of the waterfalls, how could I not take that?
I probably will not post it though it is nice.
It is interesting when you are there, the trick you have to do to take the shot of the falls and the mountain and disguise all the man
features in the view......

Ok, cool., that horse just doesn't seem to fit, the colors in the scene are conflicting, but note, I have never seen such a horse! Would love to see a print screen of the original.
Your work here has created a "dreamy effect", and if that was your intention, then well done., but I would have smoothed the water between the legs of the horse.
also, i would have taken the line out that is attached to our right shoulder., and possibly the piece that id on its front left leg., unless they are natural. Take your time with this stuff, check and double check your
editing.
Looking fwd to more! - a quick crop suggestion here as noted by other folks above.
