Hi Norm a nice clean frame with good colors and tones . comp does work well , too. Just watch the noise creeping in the darker wing parts .

Is this a big crop Norm? The fine details seem to be lacking a bit. It kind of shows as noise in the tail area. Looking away is not ideal. I love how little the perch is and how the colours looks so well harmonised throughout the frame.

Thanks Andreas and Will for your comments!

Akos, you're a tough guy to please. Actually, there is little or no crop, and I view it more as a side view and don't see the bird looking away to any significant extent. But it's good that you like the perch.

Lovely colors and perch is nice. To my eye she is looking slightly away, and slightly toward us would have been icing on the cake. But a good capture nonetheless.

All good Norm. Perhaps there is something with the processing.

Beautiful bird in lovely surroundings, I like the crop and composition as well as colours, great BG, subject could do with a tad of sharpening IMO...

Lovely capture - thank you for sharing, I enjoyed viewing, very much!

    Kind regards,

Personally the eye or head slightly away angle is not a distraction at all to me. but is a rather nice refreshing pose capture to me. You caught it resting and looking at you. the softness or lack of fine detail is most likely processing and converting to jpeg. I think it is a real keeper. :)
