This pretty little swallow is common in South America east of the Andes. This one posed nicely for us in a small blackwater creek in the Peruvian Amazon.

Hi Bill - Very nice portrait with beautiful feather detail. Comp works for me and so does the perch. Overall, it seems a little flat to me. I think you can open up the midtones slightly and give it a bit of pop.

    Rachel

Beautiful image Bill! I like the character in the perch, clean BG, composition and exposure. I wish for a little head turn towards us but would be happy to have this in my files. A new bird for me, TFS.

Lovely image! Highlights for me include eye level shooting, perfect exposure, subject isolation, background control, image quality, and interesting perch. Did you do any removal work in the background?

Thanks Shawn. No, I did nothing to the background (other than my normal NR), or to anything else for that matter. Just some minor Levels adjustment, minor crop and USM.

A beauty, Bill. Nicely handled whites, interesting perch, and great BG. Possibly small bit of feather, white spot just below the tail feathers.

You've got an almost perfect HA and wonderful gentle lighting. Hard though at ISO 2500.
Well done Bill. If anything, maybe get rid of the tiny white speck under the tail

Thank you all. Geoffrey and Akos, I hadn't noticed that white spot, but will remove it from the master file. Thanks.
