    Default Green Honeycreeper (Male)

A spectacularly beautiful bird which I badly wanted to photograph. It never quite perched on my setups.

I was happy to at least get this grab shot (not a setup) just before wrapping up my trip to Costa Rica earlier this year.

    Canon 5D3, 600 II
1/320, f6.3, ISO 2500, Tripod, Manual flash, very minor crop.

    C & C appreciated.

    Thanks!

Hi Sid, love those striking colours, and well exposed on the head. I like the subtle use of flash you managed, and you have brought out the feather detail very well. Nice and sharp where it counts. A clean BG from Costa Rica can only be a huge bonus.

Great grab shot of this striking bird, and amazing bg for a tropical setting. Good detail.

Dazzling plumage!! I like the wide eyed look that bird is giving you...pupils so dialated! or maybe that's just how they look, I don't know....I'm not suprised to hear someone of your caliber call this a "grab shot"...but seriously, it's a bit more than that...cmon man!

Wow, this is just about on the edge of making my head ache! LOL

What fantastic colours! Using a tripod, I would not hesitate to drop to 1/60th to gain a couple of extra stops of DOF!

Incredible looking specimen mate. Thanks for sharing this lovely image!
