    Default Theme: Peachy Rose

This image started out as 6 images, which I stacked in Photoshop. I just posted the stacked, sharpened image in the Macro forum. Here, I took the final stacked image and applied Topaz Impressions, Swirly Strokes II, at about 50% opacity.

Nice job with the focus stacking. I compared this with the Macro forum version and prefer the added personality you achieved with Impression.

Close-ups of flowers are one of my favorite subjects and you did a great job with this rose! Like Dennis, I prefer the softer look of this version. Love all the curves of the petals as they swirl and get tighter towards the flower center. In this version the harsh light is softened and adds lovely shades of color transitions. And those colors are luscious! The shadows add depth and definition. Well seen & processed!

A wonderful blending of gorgeous colors. I particularly like the soft texture. I also prefer this image to that in the Macro Forum. I look forward to future images incorporating the suggestions made in the Macro Forum.

I love the curving lines of the petals; they are mesmerizing Marvelous. Also, the texture of the petals and the luscious colors. I looked at the version posted in Macro, and I prefer this one. It seems to have more depth and interest. I wish there were a way to eliminate the black corners. Beautifully photographed and processed.

Thanks so much for all of your input. Anita: do you think the corners should be eliminated completely or, alternatively, be a less distracting color? For example, I think I could change them from black to white pretty easily.

This is a tricky question. I tried some things myself but wasn't happy with results. I'm only partially happy with this version, in which I cloned over the black areas. I think the upper right corner has too much color. Since no one else mentioned them as problematic, maybe it is just my own personal view. Another idea would be to make the areas a peachy color. In any even, you created a beatiful image.

Good job of cloning, but I think I prefer seeing the edges of some of the petals. I also wondered about making the areas a soft, light peachy color...I'll play with the image and see what I come up with. Thanks!

I agree about wanting to see the edges of the petals, which are one of the strengths of this image.

I love the image, but do like the idea (and Anita's take on it) of filling in the dark areas somehow.
