Beautiful pose and exposure. IQ look great, I have not noticed many images with this lens.

Perfect body angles and light angle too. The pose could not be better. Techs perfect as per usual. Is this a new lens in your arsenal, or just testing one out?

Super image, Arash. It was surprising to see you were using this lens. I used this lens for 3 years, although never with the 2xTC. While not perfect, I was pretty pleased with it. Love the behavior you captured here and there are feather details up the ying yang.

This is not your old lens Marina. It is the new one that just came out this year, the EF 400 f/4 DO MKII. There is no comparison between this lens and the old one (MKI) which was really poor IMO and frankly just useless with a TC. The new lens is in a whole different league. Canon have totally redesigned the optics. Stay tuned for the review...

Hi Ari, great 'action' captured here, well exposed, and tack sharp. Perfect shooting angle too.

Great image, love the behaviour and details captured. Looks like the new lens will come up trumps.

The correct name of the lens is as follows:
Canon EF 400mm f/4 DO IS II USM lens.
It is a Series II lens, not a Mk II :)
Though I have yet to use one I have heard only rave reviews.

Wonderfully sharp image. Exposure and framing perfect. If Arash had been able to get a lot lower how (all else being equal) might his image have been improved?

Thanks. Getting lower would have put some shrubs between the lens and the Avocet couple

Dear Arash,
Exquisite frame of this avocet pair - perfectly framed, well exposed, and there's something quite elegant about the pose with the female stretched forward - a bit like an avian ballet, if I may say so.
I love your work Arash, every single frame is just about perfect and your PP work is outstanding, the behaviour element here takes it up a big notch for me, not the mention the IQ, colours, and general presentation of the image.
Always a great pleasure to view your images, thank you so much for sharing,
Warmest regards,
