    What a sweet little owl.
It is always a great birding day when you get to photograph an owl!!
The owl IQ looks great but the OOF branch he is perched on is visually overwhelming.
Too bad you didn't bring your ladder to get higher!!

This fella has huge eyes!! I like the forest feel and the details you got on the subject. The bright spot top right could be tamed or cloned over IMO. A bit steep, but some of these owls like it like that eh!

What a unique looking owl and you did such a great job with your flash work. Super portrait. The perch and white areas may not be idea, but I feel as though your subject is so powerful that it those issues become distant.

Yeah, no way of seeing this guy at eye level, was lucky that he was not all that high above me, I mean he was really close this is almost no crop. The perch and the highlights are a problem and I guess I could deal with the highlights. Glad you enjoyed the subject, I love the whiskers that he has under the eyes, one of the cuter owls I have seen, also really small so that adds to the charm.

Bummer about the big bright patch, but you get that in a forest environment. You managed to nail as good a shot as possible me thinks. Great looking owl man!
