    Photographed this (approx. 5 year old) White-bellied Sea Eagle on a friend's property in western Sydney last Saturday.

    Canon EOS 5DMkIII
    500/4L IS USM and stacked 2x + 1.4x
    Manual mode, ISO 1600, f/16, 1/1000th
    Tripod and Wimberley Gimbal head
    Hide and food were also used.

    I love the face and the light angle. Great looking eye. Not sure on the crop though - perhaps going vertical in-camera would have been good, but of course there is not always time to do so. Another option is a bit more room below (and other sides to retain ratio) to give more room for the large lit feather down there. The details on the head feathers are very appealing!

    I really enjoy side-lighting when used well as you've done here Akos. Lovely BG to go alone. I like the horizontal comp as is. Handsome raptor!

    This is lovely. I prefer this image to the other you posted.
    Love the side lighting and the crop.

    The side light gives an extra interest to the image for sure. I like the crop and the chosen DOF. Well done, brother.
