I just read Mr. Edmundstone's email regarding the hooked RNGR.
Here it is:
Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC) came to the rescue of the fish hooked Red-necked Grebe at Bronte Harbour today.
The whole operation took almost three hours. Fortunately the barb was accessible and could be easily cut off.
She seemed to behave normally after being returned to the water. I can’t say enough good things about Toronto Wildlife Centre. They rely on donations: hint, hint.

What an extraordinary story Karl, hope all's well with the grebe family. The guy in your image seems a little 'soft' all over which I guess is due to movement blur. Regards, Ian

Great work by the TWC and a nice reflection in the shot.

Love a story with a happy ending. Great news for momma grebe!
Nice POV since you got the reflection, but the rear end is soft, the head/neck seem fine and sharp.
Not sure if it's an illusion, but looks a little strange.
Love the fish in the bill Karl. Really well done!
Looking forward to pix of the youngsters.

Thanks for the comments.
I'm really happy with the rescue for their sake and for our sake. This nest is in the harbor of Oakville and many people have the opportunity
to see them. Last night there was a group of British tourists and they had great pleasure in watching the family life of them.
They have been nesting there for many years.
Here is an image of the female, still having the hook in the neck.

Magnificent image with beautiful reflection. Superb IQ.
Love the colors, water droplets on the neck, fish in the beak and water wave along the grebe.
Regards,
Satish.
