Another shot taken last week under licence as the chicks were rung at Bolton town hall. They really do perform some amazing dives as they screech around calling at you.

This is an believable shot with a superb pose - the wings half-closed, the head turned slightly beyond profile.. a very dynamic shot. The photography gods were with you that day, and taken at 285mm you must have been pretty close.

Thanks both for comments. Yes I was very fortunate to be invited x the ringer to accompany him on the nest tray ledge. I was very close at times and very glad I took the zoom lens.

This is an excellent dynamic pose Ivan. You have captured a corker and I'm glad you listened to me about the need for bringing the 100-400 along on your photographic expeditions more often. I just wished you'd bring it out a bit more often
I might be inclined to brighten the face a tad ...not much but just a tad. I think the eye highlight needs a bit of lifting too but not too much. All in all a cracker and I expect to see this on your wall the next time I visit

Good work Ivan. An unusual view that's for sure. I agree that a little eye work would be beneficial. Regards, Ian.

They're scary when they come THIS close.
Well done, great image. Very dynamic. Love those yellow feet! They are really neat.

Highly unusual angle Ivan, but certainly makes for an interesting and dynamic shot. The head turn really makes it work for me, top marks for making the most of the opportunity
