Bummer about the specular highlights, though they're not that overwhelming.
I love the BG and the pose and eye contact. The rain is a nice addition too.

Akos the highlights in the background, were I think toned down, I can't remember for sure, but I think they are an essential part because they are OOF puffins and gulls and puffins just don't fly over nice clean fields with no birds present, they nest in colonies. I think it would not be credible for the background to be perfectly clear.
