Bill,
An interesting observation. I did not change the color from the original slide, but perhaps it had shifted towards the magenta over the years (30+). Thanks for your observation. I will have to take that in consideration when I use my old slides (kodachrome transparencies).

Mitch, I have boxes and boxes of old slides I want to digitize. How are you doing yours?

Dennis,
I am using an Epson V700. I started with a Dimage scan dual IV (no longer made and just 35mm). I went to the Epson because I also had 6X6, 6X4.5 and some 4X5 film that I wanted to scan. You can also do reflective scans with this unit. I am not sure if this model has been updated, but it seems that as we move away from film that there are fewer options in scanners. Color has been fine, but I have generally been disappointed with B&W scans. I have wanted to try wet scanning for this, but have not had the time except for one experiment (it can be a bit tedious). If you plan on doing B&W, the epson V750 has a holder for wet scanning, but there are other non epson options to allow wet scanning with the less expensive v700.
I have to dig out my old Dimage 35mm scanner and see if it still work. If it does, you could borrow it for as long as you need. It is not used anymore, and for 35mm was just fine.
