A relatively tame Silver Gull, which is a kind of pain in the rear when you're trying to have fish and chips at the beach.
One afternoon, I was shooting at a favourite spot in Sydney Olympic Park, when I noted some gulls nicely resting on a brick wall in front of a grassy hill.
The rest is in the picture. I will attach a screen shot of the RAW file before so you can see the exposure with probably a 1/3 of a more stop that I could've pushed right, but it was not really needed IMO.

Hope you guys are OK with the extra image.

You really are coming up with some crackers, Akos.

The detail is superb especially the texture on the iris of the eye, and the intensity of the red/white contrasting the green background show it off excellently. Normally I would prefer a bit of textural detail in the background but in this case the relatively plain backdrop is the business.

Excellent portrait of this lovely gull. The exposure works looks very solid to me, and I appreciate the RAW screen capture that accompanies the image. Sharp details, eye level with the subject, excellent background color that sets the bird off well....

Yes, Ákos; perfect exposure. I understand Mike's opinion, but I really like the simplicity of this background matching the simplicity of the bird. Nice colors, super detail and great composition. Great work, my friend.

    Lovely feather detail Akos!
Great pose and bird. If mine, I would make the bg a tad greener.

Killer portrait, light and colors. Wonderful details in your whites. As a final product in terms of comp, I think I might prefer the gull not as centered.

What an elegant portrait. Exposure is spot on, and the details are rich. Lovely light and bg. I had the same thought re. Marina on the comp. Lovely image Akos.
