I captured this Reddish Egret last weekend. What a blast to watch and shoot when they start hovering.
I cloned in some greenery in the ulc as the natural variation of the background gave the appearance of being unlevel.

Very nice Robert. This looks like Estero because I have had to do the same cloning for the same reason at this location!
    I like the layered BG.
Really nice to have him facing you with the curled primaries.
i might sharpen the face a little bit more but it could be my old tired eyes!!
    Well done!

I feel it could be sharpened a touch more.
Really neat pose and lovely BG otherwise.
You must have been chuffed with this opportunity!

Agree with the extra sharpening on the head. Otherwise top notch image, sweet light. nice multilayer BG and super hovering pose.

Awesome pose! Subject is well isolated against the background....that darn head is just a little too far forward to squeak into the critical area of focus it appears....a bit more selective sharpening of the head would help no doubt....Very nice action image sir, and one of that I've not oft seen of this species.

Fun pose on one of my fav birds!!! I agree with Gail on sharpening the head just a tad more as it appears to be a little out of your focus plane.
