Certainly a very colourful image Stuart, feel like I would like to tone the BG down bit but if that is how it was then why change it? Great looking fluffed up bird that I like a lot, look forward to reading the comments of others, thanks for giving us a look.
By the way what is the BG?

the bird is nice but the BG doesn't work for me as it looks unnatural and clearly man made , it looks like some wall with cement texture or paint spray?

I LOVE the colors in the BG.
It looks like the BG is a printed BG or a stucco like material? What is it? or perhaps it is noise? I see the same pattern on the eaf so I amthinking this is noise. Easily fixed.
Wish for a bit more DOF.

Interesting image Stuart. Was this taken at Savegre Lodge in Costa Rica?

The bird is fine but the background colours are over powering and it appears that you have used some sort of photoshop textures for the background and there appears to be some kind of texture applied on the birds primaries but I stand to be corrected. It is a pitty because you have a sweet bird and a sweet capture.
