I suspect you had cropped from the horizontal frame right? Perhaps you have a touch more room for the invisible tail.
A slightly better HA would improve the image. I like how the bird contrasts against the grass it's in. The OOF areas in front lead the eye nicely to the bird.
A very pleasing image IMO.
The bird's colour looks great against the grassy habitat! Good vertical composition, and nice details. I'd be tempted to either darken or eliminate the bright grass at left edge as it grabs my eye. Just a wee bit more head turn our way would have been nice, but still a fine image.
What a gorgeous bird! First time seeing this species, and the setting you managed to photograph it in is really nice. It appears you really lucked out in regards to no stray grasses crossing the bird in any unpleasant way....a thing that is most difficult to avoid in this type of setting. Lovely hand held work from a vehicle!
