Lovely setting and nice pose, Jim. Love the background too.

The comp is beautifully made. I love everything, except the lacking light. That's a big bummer. But you probably thought the same too!
Whether natural or not, I'd be very tempted to remove the small red line above the eye. Just keeps drawing me to it.
What a gorgeous species.

Looks to me like you got everything just about right Jim. Nice work. Regards, Ian

Very nice, that orange looks great and the still closed blooms add some early spring interest. Yes to that small red line above the eye. I also feel the large leaf at bottom edge is cropped in a wrong spot: I'd either crop it more solidly across its width, or add back enough to include it all. Still waiting for my first good oriole images...wish this one was mine

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. The line above the eye is natural so I thought I would leave it in but I'm going to clone it out. I knew the leaves at the bottom of the frame would be mentioned. The Orioles are still very active around the house Daniel if you are ever down this way stop in.

I really like this Jim. The light doesn't bother me at all. In fact, with a bright bird like this , this kind of light helps.
love the comp and agree with the red line and the leaf but not really a big issue for me.
IQ is excellent and exposure perfect.

Great background color to set this beauty off Jim. Simple and beautiful set up. Solid technically. What is the background btw?

Thanks Shawn. The BG is the trunk of a big maple tree about 60ft behind the set up.
