I am hoping to make you smile again...Here's one of my favourite characters from the Kalahari, a Blackbacked Jackal we affectionately named Pretzel...Image captured near a waterhole. Needless to say she thinks it is HER waterhole, so the presence of another Blackbacked Jackal gives her the heebie-jeebies, just look how puffed up she is and how her back hairs stand up! Here she is about to challenge him...
Another thing you need to know about her is, she is so brave and so possessive of her waterhole that she even attacked a Badger trying to drink...more on Pretzel in Story Sequences Forum, a lovely series of images from Andre Pretorius, take a look if you have a few minutes to spare!
Hope your evening is a pleasant, relaxing one...

Thank you so much Marina and Christopher, indeed Pretzel is making herself look "big" and I love those hairs on her back standing up:) Maybe she is afraid too, but won't show it...Check the hind left leg...slightly raised, tail off centre, she is a bit off balance but no one noticed, right? She is so good at keeping "face"...
So... here's the perpetrator...found this image of him entering the scene...Not sure this was taken at the same time, the saga went on for days...Might be going on even right now...He is skinny and evil looking, LOL. Kind of scrawny...His body language says he's afraid of the water hole owner...I tried to like him, but couldn't...He is a bit of a hooligan, what do you think?
Many thanks for viewing and taking the time to smile
