    Default Chestnut-sided Warbler, preening

This little warbler had found a nice shaft of warm morning sunlight right where my trail entered the cool, darkened woods. He was so comfortable in that spot that he continued to alternate between singing and preening for quite a while as I watched and clicked away. I think if I had had a stepladder with me he would have stayed there while I climbed up to his level (alas). I got some good singing frames, but I chose this because I haven't previously gotten a preening warbler.

I like the dark BG which brings the colours on the bird alive. Very nice HA on the preening pose. Good work Bill.

Outstanding, Bill, in every sense of the word. Agree with William and preening pose gives us a nice look at the top of the head. Well done.

Nice preening pose and excellent eye contact, Bill. Yes, preening Warbler is more rare than a singing one.

If the IQ allows (I am sure it would) I'd crop a little from above (that would remove the tiny OOF green blob in the URC) and from the right so you get rid of the branch intersection.
What a gorgeous pose and just sharp and well detailed.
I am really digging this shot Bill!
    Well done mate!
